Bevan Sylvester

Bevan Sylvester was born in Somerset West and matriculated from Parel Vallei High School in 1989. All he has ever wanted to be was a minister, preaching the gospel, and caring for people. He served the Methodist Church for 14 years, and then transferred to Somerset West United Church for seven years. He is now living in Hermanus as the Minister of the United Church.

He loves people, music, helping charities, and food (he’s got a real sweet tooth!). Bevan believes that the world can be different, and that we should all do our part to make it a gentler and fairer place. For 27 years, Bevan has been playing the organ and piano in church, and has for the last decade and a half done shows of different kinds. He has many years of experience with choirs, and is passionate about the hymns and their rich stories.
