Charl takes a very respectful approach to cooking and the ingredients that are available to him at Spookfontein and in the local area. His cooking style is very much a combination of his very Afrikaans, traditional upbringing and the classical chef training that I received. In the end his passion comes from a deep love for ingredients, techniques and seeing the end product on a plate. Says Charl, And lastly the joy guests have, coming to the restaurant and enjoying a meal I have created.
Charl has worked in various capacities as a chef since 2007. For the past six years he has been the head chef at Spookfontein Restaurant.
