As one of the largest family-owned and operated wine farms in Stellenbosch, the Stellenrust name is synonymous with the South African wine experience. Here, winemaker Tertius Boshoff has dedicated himself to producing wines of excellence and distinction, as evidenced by his 2020 ArtiSons Blueberry Hill Shiraz that earned him the honour of being crowned the 2023 Diners Club Winemaker of the Year.

Before following their artistic passion by joining the Stellenrust business in 2006, Tertius and his brother Kobie van der Westhuizen were given the opportunity to study outside of the wine industry. Kobie, now the viticulturist, qualified as an accountant, while Tertius attained his qualification in dentistry. However, his heart was always in winemaking and together he and Kobie decided to follow their artistic passion. Reviving the Stellenrust label practically from scratch, they set forth on a journey of vigorous growth and discovery for an age-old wine brand that has been re-established as one of South Africa’s leading export brands.
