Amanda Botha is an award-winning art journalist and writer with an extended career in the creative and performing arts. She has published multiple articles about the visual arts, aspects of Afrikaans literature and theatre productions, especially with respect to opera and ballet, in South African and international publications.
As art curator for the Stellenbosch Wordfest, she presented retrospective exhibitions on the work of various South African artists, such as Marjorie Wallace, Sheila Cussons, Hardy Botha, Andries Botha, Willie Bester, Adriaan van Zyl, Walter Meyer, Paul Emsley, and Herman van Nazaret.
She also had a career as a researcher and director of TV documentary programmes, mostly profiles on South African artists such as JH Pierneef, Maggie Laubser, Paul du Toit, Alexis Preller, Jean Welz and Peter Clarke. She has more than a hundred TV documentaries to her name.
