Chesham House
Chesham House is a comfortable, family style Bed & Breakfast in Hermanus, well known for its informal atmosphere and great location. There are eight rooms to choose from.
Chesham House is on Millionaires Mile, only a few metres away from the ocean. It lies opposite one of the famous whale watching sites in the region, called “Die Gang” (The Passage). Also close by, are several well known cliff paths, mountain trails and the Hermanus Golf Course.
A substantial breakfast is served in the dining room, which includes a range of cereals, yoghurts, fruit juice, breads, and the usual English breakfast components of bacon, eggs, mushroom and tomato. Coffee and tea are, of course, included.
Chesham House offers an inviting swimming pool, set in a spacious garden. Other facilities include coffee and tea in all the rooms and internet access.
Excursions here include whale watching, hikes in the mountain and along the cliff path. Hermanus excellent golf course is nearby.
There are numerous shopping opportunities in this delightful town. From craft markets to art galleries and book shops, there is more than enough chance to find something exquisite. Should you prefer finding out more about the town’s history, the Old Harbour Museum is a good place to start.
Explore the mountain by driving up Rotary Way, or visit any of the local beaches (Grotto Beach and Voëlklip being prime examples). Wine aficionados will have ample opportunity to sample the wines of the region at local wine farms. Craft breweries are also popular in the region.
