Leanne has served as the Western Cape Manager of the South African Professional Photographers (SAPP) for 10 years and is highly regarded as a people’s photographer, as well as for her efforts to protect the Rooisand Wild Horses of the Cape Whale Coast (see www.rooisandwildhorses.com). To this end, she publishes a yearly calendar to raise funds to protect them and to increase public awareness of these horses.

In 2012, she became aware of enthusiastic photographers of all skill levels confused by the digital era, and together with her photographer husband Peter Hassall, they formed thephotowalkers.com and have taught photography in wonderful locations all around South Africa, Africa and Europe.
