VOX Cape Town was founded in 2015 to create fresh, mesmerising choral experiences to enrich the musical life of the Mother City. Described as “a standout on the local music scene”, VOX has since developed a reputation for its imaginative programming and its performances of seldom-heard or new choral music in unconventional spaces.

Over the past nine years, VOX has presented scores of immersive performances in venues around Cape Town, ranging from the intimate to the innovative. Its founder and director, John Woodland, is also a research scientist at the University of Cape Town and a broadcaster on Fine Music Radio.
