Mike, a scientist with a strong affinity for art, will discuss the changing relationship between art and science through the ages. He will argue that art and science are two of humankind’s most creative endeavours. As they are both important agents of change, they benefit from collaboration and co-opetition without losing their integrity.
Mike will give examples, inter alia, of how mathematicians have inspired artists and how artists, from painters and writers to actors and musicians, have helped scientists to communicate urgent scientific messages to the public.
